Spend All You Have for Loveliness

I found a quote that said something to the effect of: The only people who get bored are boring people. That made me feel guilty for feeling bored, so from now on I will refrain from saying that. Yesterday I covered  a tissue box in an old Pennsylvania map and deemed it a "Spend All You Have for Loveliness" box. Inside, I dropped slips of paper with fun things to do that my mom and I came up with for this week. Last night we played gin rummy and lit a fire in the fireplace. The name of the box refers to a poem on a bulletin board I stared at for a semester in high school in my junior year english class:

Barter
Life has loveliness to sell,
All beautiful and splendid things,
Blue waves whitened on a cliff,
Soaring fire that sways and sings,
And children's faces looking up
Holding wonder like a cup.
Life has loveliness to sell,
Music like a curve of gold,
Scent of pine trees in the rain,
Eyes that love you, arms that hold,
And for your spirit's still delight,
Holy thoughts that star the night.
Spend all you have for loveliness,
Buy it and never count the cost;
For one white singing hour of peace
Count many a year of strife well lost,
And for a breath of ecstasy
Give all you have been, or could be.
