It's Coffee Time!

Lately I've been spending most of my time at the bakery manning the coffee shop which I like because: A) I get to smell coffee all day, and B) I now claim superior knowledge of coffee concoctions. (What's a Cafe Breve? Let me help you!) I also get a daily dose of entertainment from the middle aged men who work there, too, and love to make comments to me.

Me: "Would you like room for cream?"
Man #1: "Your smile is sweetness enough for me." What? Cream isn't sweet.

Me: "What's your employee number, sir?"
Man #2: "What's your phone number, doll?" Oh man.

These comments serve to make me blush, and I enjoy talking to customers, but all the same, I'm glad there's a counter between me and them sometimes. I also enjoy drinking coffee in a lot of different ways under the guise of "trying" it. I do not like the fact that Christmas music started playing the second week of November. Heaven help me.

I continue to look for full-time employment in oceanography or a marine-related field. It takes a lot of patience, but the "Opportunities in Marine Science" books I read say it takes time and hard work to get where you want. Kind of a no-brainer, I guess, but good to be reminded.
